Off to gym, I will throw a hissy fit if they try to tell me to not use, weights.  They told me to use a little step and not do the arm movements yesterday in the Body Step class ` I ignored them and did the same as the others.

Then I am off to get my hair coloured. I am tired of being treated like I should have my feet up on the couch reading a
colon cleansing review not participate in active exercise.  This is the last of me looking like grey gran for a while, even changed from the classic pageboy haircut.

I met Gem several years ago on a garden forum. Gem lives in north Queensland and from my home in Victoria, chatting on line about gardens we became firm friends.

Gem has her learner driver,  plates now and is enjoying driving to the nearest town to shop, I told Gem, one of my daughters never learned to drive until her children were growing up, nearing the age when they would want to drive and start looking for cheap insurance companies to cover their first car purchase.  I feel these, late start, drivers, like my daughter, like Gem, are often the safest, as they are generally very cautious and aware of the latest road rules.  Congratulations Gem for getting proficient at your drivingJ.

Gem was in love with daylilies when we first met and I am so very happy to have many of her day lily varieties in my garden, thriving, flowering and multiplying well.

These are a few of the beautiful, Bromeliads,  Gem grows.

I am not sure if I am mad or just crazy. I have had a week at half pace with my exercise. Swimming is aggravating the lipoma in my back and my arthritic foot isn't letting me run so I am thinking of turning up at a gym on Tuesday morning and finding out what they charge for classes and if I can afford the casual rates. I might find an exercise I can do right now without it hurting me. Reg will 'flip' I know, more expense, fair enough too..But if I don't ask I won't know.  I have been eating a little too much as well this last week.  The emotional, eating, because of medical problems, surfacing again and slowing me down.

Right at the time when I am less active, I choose to eat a few more calories, foolish of me.  I find it far better to try to find a way to get active and to feel positive about my body again than to focus on cutting calories. I know once I am feeling better I will have no trouble maintaining a healthier eating pattern.

This is my way of ‘doing things’ in preference to reading apidexin reviews.  I went on line and found a great sounding women’s gym in Innisfail with a fitness class at 9.30 am every morning I think I would be able to attend. That is about when Reg gets back from fishing.  I just, ‘hinted’ at the idea, to himJ, break it to him gently.

Just getting ready for an early night ‘for me’, in bed and enjoying a cup of tea, night cap. and sharing some more of the lovely crystal specimens from the Crystal Caves in Atherton Queensland.

Now that is a town for the
merchant account reseller,
to do businesses in, so many wonderful tourist stores, this one ‘the Crystal Caves' was my favourite and I bought my Christmas  Gifts for my two daughters, there.

I found the beauty of these narural sculptures awe inspiring :-).

Thank God You’re Hypnotized

Type:Music/Arts - Performance

Start Time: Friday, July 2, 2010 at 9:00pm

End Time:Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 9:00pm

Location: Northcote Town Hall, 189 High street, Northcote.

A Hypnosis show without Hypnotism. What is this you say? Studies have shown that a percentage of people on stage in Hypnosis shows are not actually hypnotised. That they are just ‘going along’ with it to have fun and be part of the group. The group mind theory is at play here.

Ahh! but there is a catch, these subjects have to use their imaginations to follow the hypnotist’s suggestions.

So as they are ‘acting’ like an hypnotised person would act, at some point their conscious mind lets go, and their sub-conscious takes over, so that they actually do end up having an hypnotic experience.

What does this mean? We can do away with long winded inductions, and get straight to the fun. And yes, like a TV show of a similar name, the subjects will play the part of the celebrities, who have to ad-lib in strange and funny situations.

Head online to book your tickets, and check out the other amazing shows at this years Melbourne magic fest. Ticket request.

I love seeing mum's discover businesses they can run and work around the needs of growing families.

I also needed to work around a young family once and indeed I earn a small income to supplement my carer allowance by accepting advertising for some products (I am selective), here on my blogs and know my readers understand I have a need to pay for my internet, fees and a little of my time, in this way.

I strive to keep the advertising content to the side bar or discrete if it is within the text..

This is not a paid add, it is a genuine desire to assist a friend, Penny Michie, grow her business,
J.

Cheap Chic
By Emily Charmers and Ali Hanan.

I enjoyed reading this book, looking at the pictures, so wanted to read it.  In searching for other books by the Authors, I only found reference to alli reviews.

Create a stylish home without breaking the bank. "Cheap Chic" shows you how to combine well-chosen high-street basics with individual finds to create a relaxed and welcoming home. Emily Chalmers and Ali Hanan reveal the best ways to invest a modest budget and how to combine colours, textures and materials with confidence.

The first section, The Elements, looks at colour, pattern, fabric and window treatments, then moves on to furniture, storage and display, accessories, lighting, materials and flooring. The second part of the book, The Rooms, contains chapters on relaxing, cooking and eating, sleeping, bathing and working at home. "Cheap Chic" concludes with a source directory to help you track down all those sought-after items.

Happy Hour, I personally shudder at the sight of that plate of refined carbohydrate and fat, they call cake, it is so ‘not me’.
One of the first things Reg and I talked about when we decided to become gray nomads, was that we did not want to become a part of the 'Happy hour', culture and seniors congregating for drinks before dinner, sitting around for much of the day, inactive other than for talking.  In the same way Reg and I do not 'do' the usual tourist 'things', preferring to enjoy nature not tourism venues. In many ways, we are very unlike the average 'gray nomad', part of why I called us, 'gray with an A for Active, nomad'.

The Flying Fish Resort we are staying at begins its twice weekly for three months, social get together evenings next Wednesday with a 5pm Happy Hour and BBQ and or Roast on the Sunday nights and I need to decide if Reg and I will be attending.

I would like to attend for several reasons, one it is a great way to meet our neighbors they are not all just Australian travelers there is a couple here who are sharing information about european river cruises  and one of the guests here is a personal trainer and he has invited me to do yoga sessions with him. It is well worth meeting people.

The reasons I am not sure we should go, is because of my views on good nutrition and portion control. While we do, drink  a wine occasionally, it is with dinner and a very small glass full.  I am not one for pre dinner drinks on an empty stomach and I do not want to eat the sort of nibbles that will be served.  I did not come here to risk my hard work toward fitness goals being, set back by social events around unhealthy food or drinking alcohol when I do not want to.

Then the Sunday night roast or BBQ has no green vegetables on the menu only meat, onions I assume may be fried, mushrooms possibly from a tin and salty or butter sauced. also potato and gravy stodgy foods, not my sort of eating.  At  $10 a head I will be tempted to eat more steak that I usually would eat for  meal and will be saying no to the sausages, they at least will not tempt me at all.

No I don’t think I will attend the Sunday sessions and I am wondering though about attending Happy Hour, with a bottle of water and a wine glass with a lemon twist in it and a bowl of freshly chopped vegetables and a dip made from low fat yogurt and my own freshly chopped herbs. Who knows I may yet start a trend for seniors to want to start getting fit, lol.

My Michelle Bridges, work out DVD, on in our caravan, see picture below. Travelling is not a reason to sit around, in and outside the caravan inactive and over consuming food and drink.  I love this life too much to join in the inactive senior crowd.  We become old before our time, if we become inactive and eat and drink too much, we do not become overweight and inactive, because we get older. I cannot see myself as part of the happy hour set.

The saying, ‘I love my computer, it’s where my friends live takes on a whole new meaning when the office is outside in tropical north Queensland and your friends, are the green tree ants who have a nest in the shrub beside me and they wandered over my computer keyboard and screen while I am reading how to lose weight fast by doing burpees.

The green tree ants, appear to be harmless, do not make a nuisance of themselves or bite. Just sticky-beak at what I am doing. J and I am quite comfortable having them around.  Apparently they help orchardists by cleaning up many insect pests and they also make good, ‘bush tucker’, not that I eat my friends.

The standard beginners burpee.

From a standing position, squat down so that your knees are bent and your palms are on the floor in front of you.
Without moving your hands, kick your legs back into a push-up position; keep your arms straight and use your abdominal muscles to prevent your torso from sagging.
From there, do one push-up, bending your elbows so that your body is parallel to the ground. As soon as you complete the push-up, jump back into the squat position and leap---as high as you can---into the air. Once your feet touch the ground again, you've finished your first burpee. To create a cardiovascular workout, perform burpees in a rapid circuit; as soon as you finish leaping into the air, squat down to the ground and begin another burpee.

Complete each burpee as quickly as possible without sacrificing proper form.

Although you might initially become winded after only a few burpees, try to work your way up to 10 to 15 burpees within a 30-second time frame, resting between sets as needed;

I am working on this burpee exercise, down in the soft sand at Flyig Fish Point beach, where if I fall over trying I’ll only wound my pride, lol J.
