Bromeliads from Gem's Garden. 06/13/2010
      I met Gem several years ago on a garden forum. Gem lives in north Queensland and from my home in Victoria, chatting on line about gardens we became firm friends. Gem has her learner driver, plates now and is enjoying driving to the nearest town to shop, I told Gem, one of my daughters never learned to drive until her children were growing up, nearing the age when they would want to drive and start looking for cheap insurance companies to cover their first car purchase. I feel these, late start, drivers, like my daughter, like Gem, are often the safest, as they are generally very cautious and aware of the latest road rules. Congratulations Gem for getting proficient at your drivingJ. Gem was in love with daylilies when we first met and I am so very happy to have many of her day lily varieties in my garden, thriving, flowering and multiplying well. These are a few of the beautiful, Bromeliads, Gem grows.     I love seeing mum's discover businesses they can run and work around the needs of growing families. I also needed to work around a young family once and indeed I earn a small income to supplement my carer allowance by accepting advertising for some products (I am selective), here on my blogs and know my readers understand I have a need to pay for my internet, fees and a little of my time, in this way.  I am trying some layouts of words to go with prints of the pastel artwork of Caleb and Talyn. I was looking for good quotes to go with the picture, then I saw 'mum's words', that had accompanied her original photo and I loved that. What do you think? There are two possible layouts above. I like the look of the lower one with more foreground, yet the top one has better placed light areas to suit the words. I have also tried two letting styles, I always prefer the flowing style above though the block letters are easier to read. Both have merit. I could do the first one, as I have designed it, as a small business card size fridge magnet, and the lower one as I have designed it, as a small business card, gift card. Thought I would get some opinions and lol, proofread it well before I hit the print button, after my previous effort, see my 'Dyslectics of the World, Untie, post, below, :-).  I found the photo of these two beautiful young boys in friends on line photo album. The light I saw across Lake Dorothy on my walk early this evening inspired me and so I have been working ever since trying to capture the essence of these boys playing only I am making the picture, backlit by the light across the water, as I saw it tonight, here in Mooroopna. I would have loved to have finished this tonight but it is not to be, there is more work in it that the in the image I completed of Georgia which only took me an hour each. This work is already a couple of hours into it and it looks like taking many more hours to get even close to a finished work. It is my own youngest grandson’s birthday tomorrow, Happy Birthday CJ. He is almost a teenager J, I’m beginning to dare to think of Reg and I enjoying becoming great grandparents, it seems only a short time back the grandchildren were born. Children are our joyJ. People have more in common than we have differences; primarily we all love and want the best for our children. Children are our greatest creative artwork J Horoscopes. 01/09/2010
 I believe in friendshipJ and I appreciate that a friend has been sending me a daily horoscope, not because of a belief in the horoscope but because it is a greeting from a friend and that I appreciate very much. My horoscope today read: You could make a lot of headway on a relationship issue today -- just be honest. That is GREAT advice anytime. I think belief in horoscopes came from the time when people thought the sun revolved around though, the earth and the earth was the centre of the universe. I do believe cosmic forces have some effect, the pull gravity from the moon affects the tides and cycles of women and probably things we will never know about. I believe we are more responsible to make our own fortunes than to depend on the constellations for our fate and we can read into the horoscope whatever we want to and in doing this, we see parallels to our lives and this is why some believe in them. JMO but I am also aware there is more we do not know and understand than we do. What do you think? Comments WELCOME.
