What can I give Reg for his 70th Birthday?  I know I bought him his fishing rods and a fishing book, he is using now.  but I would love to give him something special on the day. We are practical people, cannot be frivolous with money either. Not a lot he needs or wants I haven't already got him before he even asks for it, lol :-).  Trying hard to think of anything he would use or need. I have until 25 August to think of something.

One improvement for Reg as he enters his seventies, he is leaving a decade of eczema behind him. I never did share any of his eczema pictures. but he had it all over his, back, chest scalp, arms and legs at one stage. I decided that artificial sweeteners might have been the main cause and I stopped him from using artificially sweetened cordial he used every day and his rash cleared up completely. I like to let people know that these artificial sweeteners can create problems like this.

At this stage I do not know where we will be on the 25th August. if we were near Cairns and could get Indigo minded I could take him on the Cairns to Kurrunda, Steam Train, up into the mountains giving him a very special memory, I could show him pictures of once we are home to refresh his memory.   I know our two daughters would have loved him to be 'home', in Victoria so they could celebrate this occasion with him, but I do not think he would want to rush home while it is cold, when we have travelled so far north for the winter, we need to stay until it warms up, down south.

I would love to hear any of your ideas.

Thank God You’re Hypnotized

Type:Music/Arts - Performance

Start Time: Friday, July 2, 2010 at 9:00pm

End Time:Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 9:00pm

Location: Northcote Town Hall, 189 High street, Northcote.

A Hypnosis show without Hypnotism. What is this you say? Studies have shown that a percentage of people on stage in Hypnosis shows are not actually hypnotised. That they are just ‘going along’ with it to have fun and be part of the group. The group mind theory is at play here.

Ahh! but there is a catch, these subjects have to use their imaginations to follow the hypnotist’s suggestions.

So as they are ‘acting’ like an hypnotised person would act, at some point their conscious mind lets go, and their sub-conscious takes over, so that they actually do end up having an hypnotic experience.

What does this mean? We can do away with long winded inductions, and get straight to the fun. And yes, like a TV show of a similar name, the subjects will play the part of the celebrities, who have to ad-lib in strange and funny situations.

Head online to book your tickets, and check out the other amazing shows at this years Melbourne magic fest. Ticket request.

I love opening my facebook, page and seeing interesting updates from my blogging friends about project management software and uplifting status updates, from friends, like Joy of Brilliance who’s current status, says:- A for Attuned, Awake, Aligned, Aware, Abundance, ALIVE. Which 'A' words Light you up?

I had to reply:- Affinity, the likeness of one for another.

It has been at the back of my mind to want to make some comment about what I considered the secret of Reg and my own, successful marriage, the success being based on loving those qualities we enjoy in each other and respecting the other partner’s right to those qualities we don’t love. Marriage is not about trying to change the other person into who you want them to be. That I believe is also the secret to living life in peaceful coexistence with everyone.

We all have more in common, (this affinity), than we have differences. This can be a foundation for everything from tolerance of those we might otherwise have feared because of their differences and for lasting love in marriage.

We can focus on those areas where we are united, in belief and respect the other person's differences, not insisting they change.

It is not our right to mould others to be in agreement with us or to be like us. To focus on the affinity we have with them and respect the differences, we get a lot more of those other A's :-) A for Attuned, Awake, Aligned, Aware, Abundance, ALIVE.

Yesterday my family and I watched the most beautiful display of a loving black swan couple, doing a complicated synchronized movement, graceful dance on the clear waters at the edge of the boardwalk at Lakes Entrance., Victoria
Picture
I have seen swans swim together and in groupings of size but never before seen such a seemingly beautifully choreographed and synchronised twists and turns dance.  Every now and again they would swim apart, still moving in unison, then turn together and draw back close stretching their long necks out so their heads came together, before their bodies.  The affection between the pair was obvious to all who watched.

Picture
I had seen the pair together by moonlight the night before with the water looking so clear, as if cleaned by pond uv filters you could see all the way to the sand below and watch the crabs scurrying about and small schools of fish in the water. It was quite fascinating to watch.

My pleasure was enhanced by the rare opportunity to share this with my youngest daughter and her family.  It was a treasured moment.

Picture
I did a little research about the black swans as I wondered if this was considered a ‘mating dance’, and I learned that the male black swan, called the cob,  performs an elaborate dance, known as a “Triumph Ceremony”, which occurs after he’s successfully fought off a rival suitor for a mate. After that, it is a partnership for life. Should one partner die, the other will usually live out the rest of its life alone.    I think this cob had well and truly, won his soul mate over for life and no rival was going to join in this couple's dance. BEAUTIFUL Easter weather here in northern Victoria.

I had intended to spend Easter, packing the caravan, working in the garden, preparing it for winter by pruning roses, and tidying the climbing plants, but I have so far left Reg to potter in the garden while I try to improve my blogs.  A little tidying up and looking at the direction they are taking.

I have decided this, blog, my more personal diary style blog should feature a little more arts and entertainment and lol :-0, this might mean that I can also include a little more entertainment in my life. A sneaky move I think. lol.  I can call it 'research', and con my husband into stepping outside his comfort zone of a quiet rest at home or outside the caravan. lol.

Here is a picture of my husband, lol J, where I need him, in view, where I know he is safe, outside the window, tying back the only part of the garden he had any say in lol J and the part he is rightly very proud of, the wisteria vine over the pergola.  He chose the vine and the location of the pergola in the garden and the truth is, I could not have chosen better myself J.

Our Poodle Indigo, wants to share some happy snaps of her visit to Carla's Dog Clipping and Grooming Narre Warren. http://www.carlasdogclipping.webs.com/

Here I am, waiting for my dad to come and pick me up.

Dad is here, and I am SO EXCITED!

I LOVE all my grooms from Carla.
I get the glamour girl look for special occasions and the short and practical, outback, bush loving dog, groom when I am heading into country and my mum asks for me to be very short so she can watch my skin and protect me more easily from ticks and grass seeds.

My granddaughter Hannah. From my art work,
It has been a busy couple of days since we have arrived home. I am still striving to get myself back into a good exercise discipline though i am doing a lot of incidental exercise.

Today was a happy occasion, I went to see my daughter in Shepparton and the grandchildren and we go there for dinner, tomorrow night.

I have been catching up with the usual things you do when you arrive home from a five-week holiday, the shopping, washing a bit of cleaning and bill paying.

I got a letter from Centre link that has my husband listed and having a small life insurance policy, which he does not have. I have no memory of our getting life insurance quotes nor our accepting them I remember a couple of years ago they had us listed as owning an acre of land we never bought and I wonder how  they muddle things up like that, I just know I had best go and sort it out before Easter and before we head off on our next stage of  our travels.

Indigo took Reg for a walk on the beach today.

I wore my Polar  FT4  sports watch set to record my calories, for the first time and it was fun seeing myself clock up an easy 200 calorie walk. I do my fitness blogging at artslim.org

Picture
Indigo loves it here at Phillip Island.  While there are many areas that doogs cannot go at anytime, there are areas where dogs are allowed off the leash to run on the beach :-).

If you are interested in dogs, or posts about our five year old, Indigo, she has her own doggies blog, and would love to have you visit.

I think Indigo is in control of this walk. lol, :-).

Philip Island is a wonderful place to bring children. I can remember the joy our own daughters had when we would bring them here to show them the fairy penguins parading at dusk, the koalas, the seals. It is a natural paradise of beach walks, beautiful rock formations and the side trip to Churchill Island is like a step back in time, with Clydesdale horses and old style farm buildings, even the children will love.
